Hello,
I am Denise Moore, a licensed Esthetician, certified makeup artist, and a certified microblading artist. With many other certifications to bring to my skin and beauty services.
I devote my life to my faith in Christ, being a wife to my husband of 14 years, and mothering my two beautiful children. Family is everything to me.
Growing up I loved all things beauty, makeup, glitter, and glam. I have always had a passion to serve people. I knew one day through my 13-year career as a Histotechnician, I would pursue a hands-on path to helping others with their skin care needs.
I have always felt a calling to serve my community. Personal and career experiences led me to choose the path of Esthetics. Combining many years of skin analysis experience with my knowledge of skin care and beauty, inspired me to open The Beauty Nest.
I truly see beauty in every person. I love to help others tap into their inner grace. It is bigger than beautiful looks and nice skin. It is about creating a moment of self-assurance. I want to use every ability God gave me. I hope to be a blessing to those I serve through The Beauty Nest.
With melanoma and other forms of skin cancer on the rise, I wish to teach others proper skin protection, and the importance of annual skin exams. This is a personal mission of mine to raise awareness, so that others can keep themselves and their families protected. Joey's Journey was a huge impact that helped led to my mission.
Joey Moore, a small-town guy, a family man and everyone’s friend. He loved Spend weekend racing his motorcycle and camping at the lake with his family. Joey worked as a welder fabricator and was the lead singer and guitar player in his family band, The Bluegrass Mafia.
During an office visit to have a mole assessed, the doctor felt it necessary to perform a biopsy to determine whether the mole was benign or cancerous. In January of 2016, Joey’s medical team determined the cancer had reached his lymph nodes in the surrounding areas. He experienced multiple surgeries to remove the lymph nodes from mid chest to under the arm pit, followed by immunotherapy treatment. The journey seemed long and overwhelming, but Joey embraced it with so much optimism. He was considered cancer free, knowing that melanoma can reoccur. Joey was able to get back to enjoying the things in life he so loved, back to playing music and embracing his family and friends.
Approaching the third year of life without cancer, Joey experienced a seizure while at work. This led to more testing, more scans, and many frightening scenarios. I do not think anyone, including Joey, was prepared for the news. Joey had developed three spots on his brain and a mass in his chest cavity. The doctor’s confirmed the Melanoma from years prior had metastasized.
The next chapter of Joeys cancer battle looked much different from the first. His whole life changed that day, along with that of his family. Chemo treatments, radiation, MRI’s and treatment rooms became the new reality. With Joey’s strong Faith and determined Spirit, he fought a hard six months. Despite the amazing doctors, nurses and care teams Joey’s cancer grew more rapidly than the treatments could control. Joey went under Hospice care in June 2019. The Hospice of Cincinnati did an amazing job caring for Joey and supporting our family.
On June 17, 2019, Joey passed into Heaven. His battle with Melanoma was a long journey, but it never defined him. To his family, Joey will always be remembered for his strong, courageous, and optimistic spirit. On behalf of Joey’s loved ones, we encourage you to perform annual skin exams and practice proper sun protection by using sunscreen. Skin Cancer Awareness is the key to Healthy Skin.
